Himalayan Education Center serves Tibetan Buddhist background minority people groups located in a remote high altitude area in the Himalayas. Their education center for children and youth provides necessary resources such as safe housing, meals, and local help to this underdeveloped and deprived area. Tabby's Covid-19 Response (Masks)
The women of Tabby’s began with a goal of making 20,000 hand-sew masks for free distribution. They ended up making and distributing over 75,000! In addition to distribution in the immediate communities of the Tabby’s women, they partnered with local NGOs who provide essential services to children’s homes, slums and poor rural communities. This targeted goal also provided employment for up to 16 women for 2 years. This was made possible through a $30,000 fund-raising campaign.
Maglaj Skate Park
Maglaj SkatePark exists to serve and empower the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They completed the construction of an outdoor concrete skate park which continues to provide skate classes and camps. The skate park continues to provide a safe recreational area for youth and families; and gives teens and families a sense of ownership and pride for their community. They also completed the facilitating of a 9-part mural in the center of town along with a mural in the children’s wing of the pediatric department of the Health Center in Maglaj. These mural projects served to build community pride and showcased works of art.
