Passing the IELTS Exam with Learning Disorders

South Asian English Institute provides quality English instruction at affordable rates to open the door for better educational and employment opportunities, including minority groups, thereby reducing inequalities in society at large.

South Asian English Institute provides their English instruction through classes, clubs, and fun events. Their teachings help students build their confidence and expand their vocabulary. It also helps prepare them to take and pass the IELTS exam.

Passing the IELTS exam is one major marker in helping students gain access to international education and work abroad. IELTS stands for the “International English Language Training System” and it is a proficiency test for non-native English speakers. It is trusted by more than 11, 000 organizations around the world. Governments in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom use IELTS to process immigration applications.

This standard of training and testing has been around for about 30 years. It’s a challenge for any non-native speaker, especially if there’s a learning disorder or disability involved. Now imagine if that disorder is unknown. In one instance, South Asian English Institute was able to help one student identify the reason for their repetitive failing and set them up for success.

“One student had failed the IELTS exam several times. He is trying to go to the UK to study and work. We were able to identify a slight learning disability and tailor his coaching accordingly. Dyslexia was making the reading section of the exam exceptionally difficult. When he recently re-took the exam, he scored adequately in all sections of the exam, including reading. Now he is on his way to study and work abroad!”

Congratulations to this young man and compliments to these project leaders for their insight and skill to address the issue.
